15 September 2017: The Malaysian Syarie Lawyers Association (“PGSM”) signed an exclusive technology partnership with CanLaw Asia Sdn. Bhd (“CanLaw”), a progressive move which would propel Syariah lawyers to enter and engage in Malaysia’s fast growing digital economy.

The signing of this exclusive partnership is to develop a syariah lawyer-discovery platform – CanLaw Syariah – based on CanLaw’s existing lawyer-discovery technology, as well as to further collaborate on the ongoing development of technological innovations in the syariah legal industry.

CanLaw Syariah would enable the public to find and compare quotations from up to 3 different syariah lawyers in just a few simple clicks, making the Syariah legal industry more accessible and transparent than ever before. There will also be a powerful and easily searchable online directory of Syariah lawyers that will assist the public in finding the best lawyers for their case.

Other than the CanLaw Syariah lawyer-discovery platform, PGSM and CanLaw will also work together on the promotion of technology adoption amongst Malaysian Syariah lawyers, This will be done through organization of tech-adoption workshops, affordable website building services, as well as opening access to Syariah legal knowledge via various online content strategies.

The CanLaw Syariah lawyer-discovery platform is expected to be completed and launched at the upcoming PGSM Convention on 13 October 2017. The mobile companion application for lawyers – CanLaw Syariah Pro – will also be made available soon after.
